As expected, in an orchestrated
effort, all of the current and the past authorities of Islamic regime of Iran –
the hardliners and the moderates, the conservatives and the reformers – came
out condemning the most recent street protests as “work of enemies”. They showed up
on TV, pale, sullen and scared, reminding each other the bygone days, and how
they were able and by what methods to quell the unrest! They, seemingly, all
forgot about reforming their sclerotic regime, so to fit them according to
their needs. Their need is, at the very moment, to save this regime, which has
been seriously challenged by the vast majority, who have demanded its
overthrow.
It is, of course, true that this
regime has many enemies. Donald Trump, as usual, Tweeted his unedited mind. Saudi Arabia
said something as well to twist its regional rival’s arm. Canada, as its habit,
followed US’s steps; and different European states made statements about the
street protests, keeping in mind their economic ties and interests with Islamic
regime. Neither of them however will go as far as demanding the overthrow of
this regime. They all either explicitly or implicitly made this clear.
But the real enemy is at home.
They are workers, pensioners, women, unemployed youth; the downtrodden. They
have not been eating properly due to the lack of enough food. Not being paid
regularly. They are told that they are Khirkhodi (second hand citizens). They
are homeless, sleeping in the streets and in the yet unused graves in the
cemeteries! Not excited by USA ’s
exportable Democracy or Human Right. Not lured by Saudi Arabia ’s kings and princes. They
are the enemy of this regime and the enemy of the whole system.
The relationship between Islamic
regime and its enemy at home has entered a new phase. This will not benefit any
of the gangs or wings of the Islamic regime!
